Summary/Abstract: The Grice’s cooperative principle are divided into four Gricean maxims. This paper drawsattention to Maxim of Quantity. Make your contribution as informative as is required (for thecurrent purposes of the exchange) and do not make your contribution more informative thanis required. Speakers are assumed to provide as much information as required for effectivecommunication in conversation and no more. From 140 issues of “Tygodnik Forum”, thatwere collected in 2009–2011, 20 press releases were selected and analyzed. The aim of theanalysis is to show the effects of breaking the Gricean Maxim of Quantity.Коммуникативные постулаты Г.П. Грайса делятся на четыре категории. Целью даннойработы является анализ одной из этих категорий, т.е. максимы количества информа-ции. Твое высказывание должно содержать не меньше информации, чем требуется(для выполнения текущих целей диалога). Твое высказывание не должно содержатьбольше информации, чем требуется. 140 в российских СМИ и их перепечатки в поль-ской еженедельной газете «Tygodnik Forum» в 2009–2011 годах были проанализирова-ны с точки зрения нарушения максимы количества информации.
