Summary/Abstract: Adolescence is the stage of greatest risk for the initiation of the use of psychoactive substances-cigarettes, alcohol and illegal psychoactive substances. Today, the use of psychoactive substances is more widespread in the adolescent population, and this valid especially for countries in the transition, in which this phenomenon is taking epidemic proportions. In this sense, the main goal of this research is examining the prevalence of using three groups of psychoactive substances- cigarettes, alcohol and illegal psychoactive substances among adolescents in our community, as well as determining the relationship of such behavior with the relevant socio-demographic characteristics. Most theoretical models dealing with this kind of problems hold the position in which the use of psychoactive substances has a complex nature in adolescence, and that its occurrence depends on many factors, which belong to the social context, and individual area.
