CLASS STRATIFICATION AND DELINQUENCY: ADOLESCENTS FROM MIDDLE AND UPPER CLASSES

Summary/Abstract: Adolescent delinquency of members of middle and higher classes remains in the shadow of sociological and criminological research which in a longer period was mostly oriented toward members of poor, socially excluded and marginalized layers. The relation of class stratification and delinquency is especially important in projection of a delinquent`s life perspective. Insight into forms and tendencies of delinquent behavior of members of higher classes, as well as critical review of their social perception and treatment, increase the possibility of adequate reaction in creating and implementing prevention measures.
