Summary/Abstract: This paper examines the educational and economic structure of the Roma population in Serbia. The study is based on census data, which are conducted on the territory of the Republic of Serbia in 2002 and 2011. The observed changes in education structure are compared with changes in the economic structure of the Roma population between the two censuses. The authors make an attempt to understand their cause as well as the effect on the future status of the Roma population in Serbia. The paper shows the regional distribution of these two significant demographic structures. The last part of the paper is devoted to the analysis of the means of support and sources of livelihood of the Roma population.
