Summary/Abstract: In this article we empirically and comparatively test the concept of civic political culture. For this analysis, we used European Value Study data. The main goal of the article was to measure the level and predictors of civic political culture I Europe and Serbia. Civic political culture is defined as a construct consisting of interest in politics, political activism, democratic orientation, social trust and liberal value orientation. The main hypothesis that has been tested is that value orientation as a part of the culture of the society shape civic political culture. As a method, we use Confirmatory Factor Analysis and Multilevel Modeling. We found that intrinsic and extrinsic work orientation, civic morality, permissiveness, family traditionalism and religiosity are the main value orientation that can explain civic political culture.
