“The Polish Peasant in Europe and America,” One Hundred Years Later

Summary/Abstract: This text is devoted to the series of seminars organized in the Institute of Sociology in Łódź on the occasion of the hundredth anniversary of publication of Thomas and Znaniecki’s The Polish Peasant in Europe and America. Znaniecki is considered the Nestor of Polish sociology. On the basis of speeches during the conference, the author presents the contemporary reception and topicality of Znaniecki’s sociology.
