Summary/Abstract: The article deals with some problems of formation and development of the Russian intelligentsia in national regions of Siberia —Altai, Buryatia, Tuva, Khakassia, Yakutia. In the pre-Soviet period there were a small number of people engaged in intellectual work in these regions. During the years of Soviet power, particularly with the beginning of the socialist reconstruction of national economy, the process of development of multinational intelligentsia with the dominance of Russian specialists began in these regions. The article analyzes the sources and ways of its development, among them are referring of specialists to national regions, creation of universities, technical schools and training of personnel at the local level, targeted training outside the regions, etc. In the process of development of the intelligentsia in each of the republics of Siberia, a modern settlement, national, industrial, professional, and gender structure of the intelligentsia was formed. It is emphasized that the Russian intelligentsia played an important role in emergence and development of the national intelligentsia, its modern structure. Many figures of Russian culture were teachers of writers, artists, musicians, actors from among the peoples of Siberia. At the same time, Russian cultural figures learned a lot from representatives of the national intelligentsia, who knew the customs, traditions of their peoples, and folklore, which was reflected in their works. Since the beginning of seizure of Siberia, its national regions and throughout all subsequent years, the representatives of the Russian intelligentsia had been and are directly involved in the development of all spheres of life and activity of the peoples of Siberia. Their contribution to the creation and development of the industrial complexes in these regions is especially great. They occupied and occupy leading positions in industry, construction, transport and communications. We emphasize the important role of Russian specialists in the development of agrarian sector of the republics of Siberia, as well as in the sphere of education, science and culture.
