Summary/Abstract: In this paper, the author tackles the last two decades of Serb drama, claiming that it could be deemed a victory, a defeat, and both a victory and defeat. This necessitates the appraisal of the wider context which encompasses contemporary civilization in its entirety. The analysis is also concerned with important occurrences in neighboring nations and the course of action taken by their political elites. From this perspective, the Serb domain, primarily the political and public elites, formulate their opinions drawing on contradictory sources. This is the reason why the Serb political constellation is dissonent, owing to conflicting stances from the radical patriotism to the dominating Europhilia.
