Summary/Abstract: This paper deals with analyses and presentations of characteristic forms of social deviations in rural areas, having in mind the economical, social, political, curlturological and socio-psychological context of the life of rural populations in Serbia. Apart from a comparative indication of the link between social deviations in rural areas and their general featurs in Serbia's society, a special analysis is devoted to their specificites related to rural populations. The author adopted a wider humanistic approach to the understanding of the essence of social deviations. In that sense apart from alcoholism, property and organized crime, narcotics addiction and violence at a micro-social level also poverty, unemployment, idleness, alienation an marriage and family disorganization in rural populations. The basic point of the paper is that essential changes in the position, style and quality of life, as a prerequistite to preventing and reducing the indicated and otherwise manifested forms of social deviations in rural areas, cannot be achieved without a thorough reexamination and acceptance of new policies and treatment of agriculture, rural areas and farmers.
