Summary/Abstract: Homo oeconomicus represents a mainstream economic view that human beings under all circumstances strive for their self-interest, and choose alternatives which would maximize their self-interest to the greatest possible extent. In this paper, through comparision of different statements, we pointed out that this option is closely connected with utilitarianism and social darwinism which are inadequate to capture the heterogeneity of the diverse aspects of development. We conclude that alternative path should be economic personalism, giving it a more complete base.
