OTOK SUSAK - MOGUĆNOSTI REVITALIZACIJE
THE ISLAND OF SUSAK PROSPECTS OF REVITALIZATION

Summary/Abstract: The paper deals with problems of revitalization of the island of Susak in the Cres-Lošinj archipelago. Natural resources, relevant parts of the island's economic history and the island community in its flourishing state in the middle of the century are presented. Data on today's demographic revitalization basis are given together with the results of various sociological research performed on the arch/pelago. Aspirations of islanders revealed by the research are in favour of possible revitalization projects. State administration, enterpreneurs and islanders of Susak themselves are v/ewed as revitalization subjects. A need that small island specificities be taken in account when formulating development policy measures is stressed.
