Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this article is to present the image of the Russian army emerging from the diaries and memoirs created by authors lived in the cities of Eastern Galicia occupied by Russians. In the second half of August 1914, Russian troops entered Galicia and, as a result of the victorious offensive, occupied the most important administrative centers in these areas, namely Tarnopol and Lviv. In March 1915, after the second siege, Russian entered Przemyśl. The authors of diaries and memories, every day faced representatives of the army and from this everyday perspective they described the observations about the Russian armed force.
