Summary/Abstract: Abstract. This article is a continuation of the academic project “Academic Lodz in Biographies”. The aim of the text is to reproduce, on the basis of interviews, narrative and biographical experiences of retired employees of the University of Lodz. In particular, the article is dedicated to the special relationship between a master and a student. An attempt was made to answer the questions about who could be the so-called “Great” masters, and how in their biographical stories the narrators describe their masters. The material was collected with the help of biographical-narrative interviews according to the approach of Fritz Schütze.
