Summary/Abstract: The short-prose volume, Parties by thinking and sentimental inductions, was published in 1986 and contains 44 personal reflections on the most unpredictable themes, highly human, introspective and cultural, gathered into 265 pages. The general impression is of a dynamic and fluent long text, a result of a very good critical thinking, transferred into a similar writing, in the manner of casting away any risk of reiterative plot. The pieces are the result of many years of creativity, a diverse time, 1972-1985. We might notice a progress of the author's skill, all through the thousands of days passing by, still, we have to admit that this one is not out of common, as long as the beginnings were rather very good. The titles provide a phony background, in point of real term, as they are often metaphorical or, ar least, open invitations to accepting diversity. However, they do not mislead, they are profoundly figurative, as we have noticed, and they still manage to keep the literary aura or the taste for real literature, while reading. The pages dedicated to the short prose end with a small chapter, Searching for the latest meaning. In 1970, Alexandru George also signs his debut in the form of a literature book, as a writer, at Eminescu publishing house (the institution that had no inspiration, a year before, when it rejected The Great Alpha), with Simple Facts with the End Meaning. So, a glorious year for George, 1970, with two great books, two debuts – as a prose writer and a critic – and with doubled, as it follows, recognition. This time, we find ten interesting contributions, generously appreciated, from the very beginning, by Matei Călinescu: ”the novellas represent a concentrated artistic experience, and more than that, the triumph of a style which is one of veneration and irony. His writing is highly contextual, as its understanding supposes knowing functioning models he searches for, along with their originality” (this fragment was taken from the fourth cover of the book). Thus, the title is simply suggestive, but we can reach this conclusion only by admitting the reading as a whole. Of the present book. The term simple has, not so far, the connotation too or more simple, on the contrary, we consider it close to simply like that, or even more, natural, expecting, daily. An objective analyses certainly reveals that these texts require to be read again and again and again, so that to be truly and deeply understood. On the other hand, coming back to what seems mutual at all, to us, we only find the style, for most of the pieces. Perhaps, we can admit one exception, as the first person narrative enables every representation to share its charm. This way, Alexandru George seems to appear as a genuine representative of a shy confession and that is why we notice he shares a lot of his autobiographical characteristics.
