Summary/Abstract: The personal experience of war and being involved in combat have influenced Camil Petrescu’s style and narrative perspective. Myths and archetypes may be perceived and they represent our starting point for interpretations. War is a tough episode in everybody’s life and the psychological scars live persistently building an almost apocalyptic mythological background. The author’s personality and vision are mirrored in remarkable figures of speech appearing paradoxically at a devotee of literary conviction that writing have to be only simple and disciplined. He modernized the novelistic techniques in Romanian literature.
