Summary/Abstract: Joanna Jopek writes about the reception of Krzysztof Garbaczewski's performances. The author wonders why his work, despite his great sensitivity towards the audience's needs, causes a lot of controversy or becomes rejected altogether. Jopek analyses three performances she considers to be the most characteristic, based on the work of Witold Gombrowicz: The Possessed (2008), Ivona, Princess of Burgundia (2012) and Kronos (2013). Jopek bases her reflection on the „expropriated spectator” predominantly on the ideas of Jacques Rancière and Bojana Kunst.
