Summary/Abstract: Semantic change has for some time been ignored but due to the availability of online corpora in general, and the corpora created by Mark Davies in particular, accompanied by build- in software and user friendly instructions, a new era begins for the understanding of human language and language change. But prior to that, a succinct presentation of various types of semantic change in the history of English has been considered of utmost importance. This is what we have aimed at in the presentation.
