Summary/Abstract: The article presents activity and function of media institutions like television, radio, press, theatre when the martial law put into Poland on 13 December 1981. Media likewise all institutions in a country were militarized by military commissaries and submitted to their strict inspection. Journalists and workmen were taken over verification. The journalists from media public passed in press and TV the propaganda announcing antinational activity according the national authority that acticity brought about crisis in Polska Rzeczpospolita Ludowa. The underground media created by the opposition were replayed to communists manipulation. The independent broadcasts and programmes showed people the real picture of communist regime. Illegal activity of the opposition media, during the martial law, led do changed in system 1989. The article is based on the newest publications like the published sources from Instytut Pamięci Narodowej. The author uses texts from special press supplements in ‘Niezależna gazeta Polska’ and ‘Rzeczpospolita’, and monographies of Daniel Przastek, Katarzyna Pokorna-Ignatowicz, Andrzej Kozieł and Joanna Muszyńska. The footnotes include extra informations like Cvs or descriptions of institutions, they are worked out thanks for encyclopaedias, lexicons and specialistic websides. Other sources are published memoirs and remembrances of that people.
