COMPARATIVE LAW ASPECT OF LIMITING THE EXCLUSIVE RIGHT OF THE COPYRIGHT HOLDER TO PREVENT A THIRD PARTY FROM COPYING THE WORK FOR PERSONAL USE

Summary/Abstract: The limitations of copyright authorization, as a sort of correction of the absolute character of copyright law related to authorship, are a subject of growing interest. The trend has become apparent with the development of modern information technologies (particularly the Internet), which has resulted in significant changes in the copyright relations. These circumstances threaten to jeopardize the established balance of interests of all relevant parties in the copyright relations. In this article, the author provides a comparative law analysis on the limitations of authorization for private purposes in the legal systems of the countries where industrial and copyright law has been fully developed.
