Summary/Abstract: In this paper the author returns to a Palaeolithic engraved pebble, decorated with a geometric motif. This object, unearthed from the spoil of early excavations in the cave of La Salpêtrière (Gard), was previously examined by the abbot Breuil whose unpublished and surprising description and tracing of the object are presented here.
