Summary/Abstract: In this paper I aim at analyzing the case of Colombia and its struggles with reconstruction after the 60-year long armed conflict and the establishment and protection of human rights, which play a crucial role in the Colombian peace process. This paper gives a short overview of Colombia’s history of the armed conflict from the beginning. The main part of this paper consist of an empirical part taken from qualitative interviews regarding the situation in Colombia which I conducted in March 2018 when investigating post-conflict tourism in Colombia. Whilst assessing the situation in Colombia I want to answer the question whether or not Colombia after the peace agreement is dealing with a post-conflict situation. I try to handle this topic with a more personal approach as rationally analyzing the conflict with the help of only academia would not provide an encompassing image of the conflict.
