Summary/Abstract: The article discusses the problem of evaluating the results of research and development activity (R&D) in an enterprise. R&D activity is expensive and risky, but also increases the chances of long-term development and effective competition in a changing market environment. However, this does not change the fact that even for such an important area as R&D activity, enterprises cannot allocate unlimited resources. This means that, ultimately, R&D activity must be economically justified. The aim of the article is to analyze the essence of R&D activity in enterprises, the possibility of identifying its results and measuring and assessing the economic benefits from their practical application, using index analysis.
