THE APPLICATION OF INTEGRATED IT SYSTEMS VS. THE AGILITY OF THE ORGANIZATION

Summary/Abstract: The desired ability of the organization is agility, understood as the ease and speed of companies to reconfigure, redesign and adapt their processes in order to respond to the needs, threats and opportunities of the environment. At the same time, centralized information processing with the use of ERP systems gives the possibility to receive a set of stimulating signals even to those users who have not seen particular dependencies yet. The aim of the article is to determine whether the implementation of ERP systems affects the agility of the company. In order to achieve the established goal, a discourse was provided to answer the questions: What is agility? What are the attributes of a nimble enterprise? How does the use of integrated ERP systems affect the parameters defining the agility of the organization? As a research method, literature research and a diagnostic survey based on the direct question method were used.
