Summary/Abstract: The article is devoted to some features of the so-called literature of fact, to the specification of the way citation functions in this type of literature, and to the analysis of inter-textual references which exist in the short story Stigma by Gustaw Herling-Grudziński, and the relationship between the Stigma and the short stories by Warlam Shalamov, mostly – between the Stigma and the short story Cherry Brandy. The main subjects of the reflection are ways in which Herling uses motives and themes, which have appeared for the first time exactly in Sherry Brandy. The article shows the use of these motives from the perspective of postmodernism and all existence of literature of fact in times of total postmodernism domination.
