Summary/Abstract: The article concerns feminine physicality as a metaphor of the Ukrainian identity. On the basis of the movie The Chronicles of Fortinbras by Oksana Chepelyk (2002) I show how the body transmits the political, social and cultural content. Oksana Czepełyk combines theory of post-colonialism with the theory of feminism, she analyzes the history of Ukraine, its tragic fate and the traumatic experience of totalitarianism.
