Summary/Abstract: The aim of the study is a literature review concerning the use of ICT in business activities and analysis of the use of ICT in the current business activities from the SME sector. The inference is based on the results of own study on a group of 134 family businesses. It turns out that of the small and medium-sized companies see the need of intensification the activities within the use of ICT, especially in the area of cooperation with customers, marketing activities and sales of products and services. Internet in the current activities of family businesses allows using the new distribution channels, as well as undertakes business actions within social media.
