Summary/Abstract: After the Berlin Congress, which gave the Bulgarian region of Northern Dobrudja to Romania, Bucharest started making attempts to annex the rest of the region, Southern Dobrudja. Therefore they demonstrated their pretensions to the Bulgarian state to take the area as a compensation for the liberation of Macedonia. So, on this basis they defined their attitude to the national liberation movement of Bulgarians in Macedonia and to the Bulgarian support for the movement.
