Heroism and Anti‐Heroism along a Wandering Course: The Raskolnikov Case

Summary/Abstract: Approaching Dostoyevsky’s Crime and Punishment, this article attempts to identify as (anti-)heroes various wandering figures that, more or less willingly, undertake a tortuous, paradoxical identity quest. While trying to identify such a wanderer’s status and role within the society, it can be useful to broaden and refine the analysis by discussing these aspects in the light of the question of heroism.
