Summary/Abstract: Innovative activity plays an important role in the process of economic development and catching up of developed countries and regions. In Poland, innovation policy at regional level should be shaped taking into account of the specific characteristics of the given voivodship. Therefore, the aim of this article is to investigate the level of innovation activity of industrial enterprises in the Lubusz Voivodeship. This region will be compared with two other regions in western Poland: Lower Silesian and West Pomeranian in the last ten years. The analyzes used the public data obtained from the Local Data Bank of the Statistical Office. They concerned expenditures on innovative activity and sales of innovative products. As a result of the survey, it was found that the level of innovation activity of Lubusz Voivodeship is lower than that of Lower Silesian and West Pomeranian. It is clear, that the gap between the studied regions is not leveled. A positive phenomenon in the Lubusz Voivodeship is the fact that more machinery and technical equipment are imported than in West Pomeranian and slightly less than in Lower Silesian. These indicates an intensive transfer of technology from abroad.
