Summary/Abstract: The author tends to give an overview of the contemporary Serbian historiography and its’ different topics connected with the Hungarian–Serbian relations during the Middle Ages. The paper gives mostly a stress on the contemporary authors, especially on the younger generation of scholars, but the unforgettable works of the most prominent Serbian (and exYugoslav) medievalists that have dealt with this topic. It is notable that most of the younger generation historians work in Belgrade, ordinarily in the Institute of History, but at the Faculty of Philosophy, too. There are also, which is largely expectable, a number of scholars that work at the University of Novi Sad. The overview is given by the order of authors with a brief explanation of their articles (predominantly), monographs or the unpublished doctoral dissertations. Considering the topics that are usually and commonly present in the papers of Serbian scholars and are connected to Serbian–Hungarian relations we can stress the following ones. Serbian scholars have given much contribution on the Serbian–Hungarian relations in the age of despot Stefan Lazarević and Đurađ Branković. There were many charters issued by these two noblemen critically published, also the influence of Hungary on Serbian medieval society is one of the topics. It is very important to say that the life and history of the families and the most prominent Serbian noblemen that had fl ed to Hungary after the fall of the Serbian medieval state is very much represented in the work of Serbian contemporary historians that write on the different aspects of Serbian–Hungarian medieval relations. Even though that Serbian historiography still lacks some basic works on Serbian– Hungarian relations during the Middle Ages, there is a whole generation of scholars of middle and especially younger generation that deals with different aspects of Hungarian– Serbian relations during the medieval times.
