Medieval Bulgarian Manuscripts from the Collection of St. St. Cyril and Methodius National Library Participated in an Exhibition in Moscow

Summary/Abstract: 47 items from the collections of the National History Museum, the Ancient Nessebar Museum and St. St. Cyril and Methodius National Library were exhibited in the State Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow from June 29 th until September 2 nd , 2018. In the exhibition „Masterpieces of Bulgarian Ecclesiastical Art“ were presented icons, manuscripts, embroideries, liturgical vessels etc. – artifacts of Christian art and culture in Bulgaria from 13 th to 19 th century. Three of the exhibited books in Moscow are among the most valued medieval Bulgarian manuscripts in the Slavonic collection of the National Library of Bulgaria: the Dobrejsho Gospel from the beginning of 13 th c., Four Gospels from first half of 14 th c. and the Rila Four Gospels of 1361.
