Summary/Abstract: This paper describes the three segments of legal protection from domestic violence in domestic legislation with special emphasis on family law and criminal law protection, which are the two main forms of legal protection against this type of illegal behavior. In addition to defining the basic concepts and sanctions provided by the Family Law and Criminal Law, the author pay attention to the functioning of the legal mechanisms in practice.
