„EPIC CITIES” AMONG DIGITIZATION PIONEERS

Summary/Abstract: Mirjana Detelic’s Lexicon Epic Cities includes among its appendices a digital corpus of epic songs. This paper puts him in the context of other similar projects, of which it establishes an overview (Project Rastko, National Center for Digitization, Digital National Library of Serbia...) before explaining the importance of digitization for preservation of national heritage. Finally, it asserts the pioneer role of the corpus in this field and determines the Lexicon’s capacity to keep this role in the future.
