Summary/Abstract: The article supports the thesis that the art of ballet originates from a folk art of dancing, investigates people’s dance history and its development as a basis for growth and enrichment of professional (classic) dance. The author shows evolution of the folk scenic dance as one of the expressive methods of the Ballet Theater and varieties of scenic dances from 1661 to nowadays based on examples of different schools and countries. Traditions, methods and complexities in giving education to actors of the people dance groups, choreographers and masters of choreography in the current Ukraine is analysed separately.
