Summary/Abstract: The paper examines the results of the discussion of the movie by Marlen Khutsiev "Zastava Ilyicha" with the students of the Department of Philosophy during 2010–2016. The main goal of the discussions was to discover the specificity of reception of the popular Soviet art works by the generations that grew up after the collapse of the USSR. The author defines the degree of distancing from/involvement into the lifeworld of the Soviet 20-year-old youngsters and explores the conceptual zones of strange/close existential experience, as well as scene and motive fragments, which caused the reaction of abruption or misunderstanding.
