Summary/Abstract: The article wants to characterize the essence of sin. We therefore present its causes and effects. The effects of sin are analyzed in relation to God, to the self, to society. The article also analyzes the ecclesiastical and cosmic dimension of sin. All this serves to present the greatness and the tragedy of the evil done by man.
