Archives of liquidated/erased/dissolved companies Case study: Maramures county

Summary/Abstract: This study addresses the issue of the fate of the documents created by a company established under the Law of commercial companies no. 31/1990 which, at one point, terminates its activity based on the decision of the associates, under the same law. This issue is not clearly regulated by the archival legislation in the field, so it is necessary to be introduced an amendment to the Law of National Archives, no. 16/1996 (republished), in order to make clear references to the legal procedure to be followed in case of handing over/ not retrieving documents created by a dissolving company, in the situation in which some of these companies are continuing the activity of important economic enterprises/associations from the Communist period.
