Summary/Abstract: Emancipatory powers of certain knowledge are not measured by the extent of the application of theories, methods, and the plurality of perspectives. Emancipatory human powers are measured primarily by the active forces of will that contain certain subjects in order to clearly define the idea of self and emancipatory cognitive interests that, by empowering the binomial "truth-freedom", contribute to the development of self. Guided by the active forces of will, the cognitive interests of the science of literature will be dictated by the idea of the total self, in their actuality and potentiality. Without the dimension of potentiality, there can be no whole, consequently no truth. The truth, according to the Hegelian concept, is the whole, while the whole is the essence that ends with its own development.36 Active forces of the will are addressed to the dimension of potentiality, as the dwelling place of oneself as a whole. Active forces of will, of scientific thought for literature will give the sense of empowerment and growth in the process of self-becoming and of making ourselves as a nation; meanwhile, the reactive forces of the will, as the will of the existence that is given and that takes care of what is given and not of what is made, will treat the part out of the whole.
