Summary/Abstract: The article is devoted to a previously unexplored topic, namely the identification of such Komi common nouns that are based on proper names. It is concluded that the base of such words has been provided either by ethnonyms or personal names, while most of the new nouns belong to the emotive vocabulary with negative connotations, for example, Парпонь (Russian Парфён) > парпонь ’lazybones’. The collected material demonstrates the development and expansion of the lexical set in Komi.
