Summary/Abstract: The objective of the article is to identify sources of information for innovation and their accessibility for service enterprises. The subject of the analysis are sources of information for innovation, both the most valued by service enterprises and the least accessible sources of information. The article was prepared on the basis of subject literature and results of a quantitative research carried out by the CAWI method in the third quarter of 2015 among representatives of managements of service enterprises diversified in terms of their size and the service section affiliation. The research findings allowed deepening the knowledge in the area of information bases for undertaking innovative activity by service enterprises under the conditions of weak dynamics of economic development and strong competition in the market as well as dynamic development of information and communication technologies. The most useful sources of information for innovation for a service company are contacts with customers and internal materials remaining at an enterprise, then those of competitors and suppliers. On the other hand, as the least accessible sources of information managers of service enterprises considered research institutes and universities as well as private R & D institutions, what confirms a poor cooperation of the business practice with science. The article is of the research nature.
