Summary/Abstract: The insurance market is highly competitive. Insurance companies campaign for clients, adjusting a wide variety of packages for specific segments and also offering favourable conditions of insurance licences. The knowledge becomes important for insurance companies, not only in the scope of marketing practice but also in the scope of the factors that influence the customers’ behaviour on choosing insurance offers. Nowadays when the average life expectancy increases, the elderly became an even more important market for insurance companies. This article presents inferences from surveys about factors, preferences, and motives of elderly customers during their purchase of insurance.
