Media Representation of the Folk Dance Movement in Transylvania

Summary/Abstract: Authentic folk music was becoming increasingly popular in Transylvania at the end of the 1970s,this was the time when the first folk dance houses were organized. The antecedents were strongly connected with social, economic and demographic changes. The author mentions only the most important instances of these, and tries to offer more accurate information about the many imprecise details that have been published in the media about the history of the 35 years old folk dance movement in Transylvania.
