Summary/Abstract: Although the Erdélyi Iskola did not intend to be the journal of pedagogues teaching only in confessional schools, it primarily propagated confessional (school) education. Áron Márton argued in favour of confessional education in several of his writings. Besides other roles, he expected confessional schools to elaborate the “methodology” of education for a minority life form. The editors and journalists of the fi rst period – between 1933 and 1940 – of the Erdélyi Iskola consciously undertook the propagation of education for a minority life form. Their activity, presented in this paper, proves that they also accomplished what they claimed by their work in school and in popular education.
