Creativity of Boris Lyatoshynsky of the 10th years of the twentieth century in the aspect of the formation of Ukrainian modernist art

Summary/Abstract: The article demonstrates how B. Lyatoshynsky’s new music language evolved, and points out its major principles, which absorbed the newest art tendencies of his time, namely expressionism, symbolism, and neo-romanticism. Based on examination of early works of the composer the author proves that mentioned above tendencies were established by Lyatoshynsky already in his early period works.
