Summary/Abstract: The article looks at the situation of Polish and European small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in reference to sources of their financing. First section provides definitions and insights into economic indicators for SMEs. Next, the outcomes of surveys on sources of the SMEs’ financing are discussed. The author presents investment financing sources and draws a comparison of investment propensity for the sector.
