Water – An Objective of National Security

Summary/Abstract: Water is an essential element of life. This is the reason why water has made the object of some fundamental reflexions in the field of religion, philosophy, mythology, and sciences. In the present paper we intend to make a short analysis of the reasons why water is considered the essence of life, but also of the reason why water should be treated as an objective of national, European and global security. Reflecting on the importance of water, we identified five essential levels on which it can be analysed: individual, local, national, European and global levels.
