Summary/Abstract: This article is proposing a synthetic incursion into the history of the coup which marked the Republic of Turkey in 1960, 1971 and 1980, with reference to the attitude of the Romanian diplomacy towards these events. Invariably, it can be seen that all these blows pursued, in the opticians' initiators, the restoration of the democratic regime and the defense of the republic. General Cemal Gürsel proclaimed "a true democratic order" in the 1960s. The 1970 Memorandum was adopted for the "defense of the Republic of Turkey", and the 1980 coup was directed against "total paralysis of the democratic regime." In the context, Romania has always maintained its neutrality, "in the spirit of friendly relations between the two countries", as evidenced by the events of 1980.Our approach is all the more necessary given the tradition of the Romanian-Turkish bilateral relations, the parties being represented at the legacy level since 1878, in 1938 the relations between the two countries were raised at the embassy level.
