The preconditions of the citys cape development and its main tendencies in the context of the Romanticism period are considered. The city motif in the paintings, drawings or etchings developed gradually, revealing the changes and evolutions in the representation of the city depiction, and did not create a continuous tradition in the art of the region, however partial representations of town and its architecture appeared as backgrounds in the landscape and icon painting compositions or the illuminated manuscripts.
