Summary/Abstract: Purpose of Article. The ascertainment of the role of commercial banks as the organizers of art exhibitions in Ukraine of the period 2000-2009 are analysed. This area of banks activity includes the potential for effective and mutually beneficial cooperation between the art community and the banking sector. Methodology. The methodology of the study is to apply the general principle of scientific objectivity, the methods of synchronic and diachronic comparative analysis. The study and systematization of academic research publications on issues related to the theme of the article, combined with his own research of informational and journalistic publications. Scientific Novelty. The scientific novelty of the work lies in revealing the main features of the activity of commercial banks as the organizers of art exhibitions of 2000-2009, in the definition of the role of many banks, from this point of view, as well as in the introduction of many new sources and facts into academic use. Conclusions. It is proved that in 2000–2009 commercial banks organized art exhibitions in many regions of Ukraine. These exhibitions were of various qualitative composition and number of participants. Not only the banks of the largest group (according to the size of regulatory capital and assets), but also the representatives of the groups of medium and small banks took part in this activity. Commercial banks in Ukraine have played a big role as organizers of art exhibitions; they contributed to the increased popularity of hundreds of Ukrainian artists working in this period. The areas for further development of the topic are designated in the article.
