Summary/Abstract: The article provides insight into the legacy of the founder of the Ukrainian school of composers of Mykola Lysenko from the perspectives of development of modern culture, through the prism of the synthesis of the opposition "of the national-universal" and humanistic tendencies, extremely relevant in the modern socio-cultural space. Special attention is paid to the characterization of the relationship Lysenko to folklore code, the transformation of the poetic space of Taras Shevchenko, the adaptation of the national Outlook of an all-romantic foundations of European musical culture.
